The Pope Lick Monster

Here’s a cryptid legend for you:

They say something waits above Pope Lick Creek…

A half-man, half-goat creature, watching from the trestle, calling out in voices that aren’t its own.
Luring people closer… onto tracks with nowhere to run.

Some say it was once human.
Others believe it’s something far worse.
Either way, people have gone looking and some never made it back.

Is this a scary story to tell in the dark or is it a warning to stay off the tracks?

Either way, the bridge is real and the danger is real.
And maybe… so is the legend.

This past winter my husband and I visited Louisville, KY. We went looking for the Pope Lick Monster but with no luck. Even though we didn’t see anything, it felt like something was watching….
